DIY Beginner Wire Wrapped Ring Tutorial. Ring mandrels are really cheap ($3.50 and up) and if you’re making rings it’s a good investment to make. I’ve also posted tutorials where bloggers use candles instead and lots of wire wrapped jewelry posts here: truebluemeandyou.tumblr.com/tagged/wire, but I love this really detailed and clearly photographed tutorial from Lytha Studios here.
Photographer Ma Hongjie photographs Chinese families in front of their living spaces with all of their possessions displayed outside.
in honor of earth day on sunday, our class talked about ways to take care of our planet in school on monday. we brainstormed ideas about saving energy and recycling and going green in general and the kids got so into it that they didn’t let me turn all of the lights on in our classroom for the entire day because they wanted to help the planet.
after our conversation i asked the kids to make posters or signs to tell their families how they could help the planet. some of them were kind of amazing… so here are a few samples.
happy earth day! sorry it’s late… but the 3rd grade thinks every day should be earth day anyway : )
- “dear mom save the planet use CFL lightbulbs”
- “recycling is one of the best things to do in the world. it is good for the world and to get rewards. recycling could help everyone save the earth. the bad things to not help the earth are littering, wasting paper, and don’t ever waste electricity. you know what you can do that’s good on earth day is go down to the closest park or beach and clean it up. plus always use your bike everywhere you go.”
- “recycle love the world go green don’t litter save paper don’t drive a lot it is a good idea to go green because save the planet it will be good for the earth.”
- “i would help the earth by planting trees and recycling paper.”
- “go green” (i just love this image totally thought up by a 3rd grader)
